Burcu Baran

Burcu Baran did her PhD in number theory, working on elliptic curves and Galois representations. She was a postdoc at Stanford for 2 years, followed by 3 postdoctoral years in the University of Michigan Society of Fellows, and recently made a career change into data science through Insight Data Science Fellows Program.  Burcu now works as a data scientist at the start-up 6sense in San Francisco. She will discuss her experience with the transition and being a mathematician in the data science world.
