Calculus Series Transitions

For students who have already started one of the lower division calculus series but wish to transition into a higher level series please see below.

MATH 11 to MATH 19 Transition:  PBSci majors who want to transition from the MATH 11 calculus series to the MATH 19 calculus series may do so if they earn a B+ or better in their MATH 11 courses. For example, students that earn a B+ in MATH 11A may enroll in MATH 19B.  If you would like to transition to the MATH 19 series, contact your program advisor.  Students who earn a B or lower in their MATH 11A course will need to pass MATH 19A to transition.

NOTE: School of Engineering majors must contact their program advisor to transition from the MATH 11 to the MATH 19 series.

MATH 11 to MATH 23 Transition:  PBSci majors who want to transition from the MATH 11 calculus series to the MATH 23AB multi-variable calculus series may do so if they earn a B+ or better in their MATH 11B course. For example, students that earn a B+ in MATH 11B may enroll in MATH 23A.  If you would like to transition to the MATH 23 series, contact your program advisor.  Students who earn a B or lower in their MATH 11B course will need to pass MATH 19B to transition.

NOTE: School of Engineering majors must contact their program advisor to transition from the MATH 11 to the MATH 19 series.

MATH 22 to MATH 23 Transition:  PBSci majors who want to transition from the MATH 22 multi-variable calculus series to the MATH 23AB multi-variable calculus series may do so if they earn a B+ or better in their MATH 22 course.  For example, students that earn a B+ in MATH 22 are permitted to enroll in MATH 23B. Students who earn a B or lower in their MATH 22 course will need to pass MATH 23A to transition. If you would like to transition to the MATH 23 series, contact your program advisor.

NOTE: School of Engineering majors must contact their program advisor to transition from the MATH 22 to the MATH 23AB series.
